Swansea away is never an easy place to go and get the victory, but credit to Manchester United, as they ensured safe progression into the quarter-final stage of the Carabao Cup.
It was excellent to get back to winning ways following defeat against Huddersfield on Saturday, and the manner of the performance would have been a nice little confidence-booster for the lads.
I’d like to pick out Marcus Rashford’s display. Once again, the young man influenced the football match due to his sheer will to win. The little flick he played gave Jesse Lingard the opportunity to run clear and break the deadlock midway through the first-half, but it was another pleasing all-round display from the Wythenshawe man.
He’s such a talent. The fact that he’s a local lad just makes it even better and we’re lucky to have him. He was subbed off with around 20 minutes to go, so that indicates to me that Jose Mourinho plans on utilising him against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday – which will provide him with another opportunity to show the world just how good he is.
As you’d imagine, the fans were absolutely loving the performance.
