Chelsea has launched a sensational bid to sign Real Madrid forward this summer, according to report.

The Premier League Champions want to sign Gareth Bale, as they are set to challenge Manchester United for the signature of the winger according to Spanish outlet Don Balon.

The report claims that the Blues would also be willing to include playmaker Eden Hazard in a potential swap deal given that he is a long-term target of Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.

It is said that the West London club currently has £118million available to spend in the final stages of the transfer window.

Bale enjoyed three wonderful years in the Spanish capital, winning a total of nine major trophies, including the La Liga title and three Champions League trophies.

The Welshman has failed to hit the heights in the preseason, failing to score a single goal and with the emergence of Spanish youngster Marco Asensio and playmaker Isco playing some of his best football, there is every possibility that Bale might not be first-choice at Madrid this season.
