Premier league champions Chelsea have unveiled their 2017/2018 season kit which kicks off in August.
Chelsea, however, will be putting on Nike jerseys next season after finishing their long-term relationship with Adidas at the end of last season.
The new blue home jersey and white away jersey are modelled by David Luiz, Willian, Eden Hazard and N’golo Kante. Nigeria star Victor Moses has not been pictured in the new kit.
“Chelsea fc and Nike today unveil our new home and away kits for the 2017/18 season,” Chelsea announced on their website on saturday before describing the brand new kit in detail.
“It marks the first collaboration of this interesting partnership, in which Nike will produce strips for the first team, academy and the ladies team, as well as a complete variety of apparel and training wear for millions of blues supporters around the world.
“A minimalist appearance creates a Chelsea hoMe shirt that is modern and on the identical time rooted within the club’s heritage.
“A key stage in the design process was ensuring the blue is a perfect match for the club’s specific shade. An original shirt from the early 1970s was used to define the desired blue and Nike Football’s apparel technicians produced a perfect match.
“This Chelsea blue is combined with contemporary design details and Nike AeroSwift technology to deliver a kit fit for champions. The round neckline includes a white trim with ‘CHELSEA’ knitted into the back of the neck in white text, while the shorts feature white stripes on the flanks – these, along with blue stripes on the sides of the shirt, expand when the player is in motion to enhance ventilation.
“‘THE BLUES’ is written inside the cuff of the right sleeve and the left sleeve is adorned with ‘EST. 1905’, referencing the year of the club’s formation.”
