The stock of Super Eagles players is rising as three of them have been listed among the world’s top young footballers under the age of 21.
England-based newspaper, Telegraph, published a list of 50 players and included Mancehster City striker Kelechi Iheanacho, Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi of Leicester City.
At number 14, Iwobi is the highest ranked Nigeria international and the paper described the youngster as ‘’A perfect Arsene Wenger player, versatile, intelligent and quick, Iwobi hasn’t looked out of place alongside established stars like Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.’’
Ndidi is rated 33rd while Iheanaco is ranked 36th in the world.
“Ndidi signed in the hope he could help fill the giant N’Golo Kante shaped hole in Leicester’s midfield, while he hasn’t quite solved those problems, he has proven to be a fantastic buy.’’
“Iheanacho has had his first team time reduced under Pep Guardiola’s management but Iheanacho is one of the best young strikers around’’.
The top five features Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe, City’s Brazil wonderkid Gabriel Jesus, Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele, Dele Alli and Germany international Leroy Sane.
